The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following 2024 RV recalls:

AIRSTREAM, INC.

Generator May Be Missing a Heat Shield

Flooring material exposed to heat increases the fire and injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 8

Airstream is recalling certain 2023-2024 Atlas motorhomes. The generator may have been installed without a heat shield, which can expose the subflooring to excessive heat.

Dealers will install the heat shield above the generator, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 2. Owners may email Airstream customer service at support@airstream.com or call at 877-596-6505 or 937-596-611 ext. 7401.

DAIMLER VANS USA, LLC

Braking May Require Increased Force

Extended stopping distance can increase the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 184

Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2024 Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vehicles. Due to a software error in the electronic stability program (ESP), the force required to stop the vehicle may increase, possibly requiring an extended distance to stop.

Dealers will update the ESP control unit software, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 1. Owners may contact Daimler Vans USA customer service at 877-762-8267. Daimler Van USA’s number for this recall is VS3EBOOSTF.

HEARTLAND RECREATIONAL VEHICLES, LLC

Incorrect Tire Size on Placard/FMVSS 120

Incorrect tire size information can allow incorrect tire installation on the trailer, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 16

Heartland is recalling certain 2024 Eddie Bauer travel trailers. The tire placards indicate an incorrect tire size. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 120, “Wheels and Rims – Other Than Passenger Cars.”

Heartland will mail out replacement certification labels, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 15. Owners may contact Heartland customer service at 877-262-8032.

JAYCO, INC.

Camera Control Module May Overheat

A camera image that does not display decreases the driver’s visibility, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 137

Jayco is recalling certain 2023-2025 Entegra Aspire Type A motorhomes. The camera control module may have been installed upside down and flush to the floor, which can cause the module to overheat and prevent the camera’s image display.

Dealers will inspect the camera image, install two brackets and replace the module as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 7. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267. Jayco’s number for this recall is 9903607.

 

Short Circuit From Incorrectly Routed Wiring

A short circuit increases the fire risk. A short circuit can additionally cause loss of drive power, power steering and brake system control, which increases the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 6

Jayco is recalling certain 2023-2024 Jayco Terrain and Entegra Launch motorhomes. The main wiring harness may rub against the drive shaft and short circuit, which can result in a loss of drive power, power steering and brake system control.

Mercedes dealers will inspect the routing of the main wiring harness and correct it, as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 7. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267.

 

Seat Belt Warning System Malfunction/FMVSS 208

A malfunctioning seat belt warning system can result in improper seat belt use, increasing the injury risk in a crash.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 33

Jayco is recalling certain Jayco Swift, Swift Li, Entegra Coach Ethos and Ethos Li motorhomes. The driver’s seat belt warning light and audible chime may not activate as intended. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 208, “Occupant Crash Protection.”

Stellantis’ Ram dealerships will inspect and replace the driver seat belt buckle as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 14. Owners may contact Jayco customer service at 800-283-8267.

WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.

Air Bags May Fail to Deploy

Damaged wires can prevent air bags from deploying in a crash, increasing the injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 15,572

Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2017-2025 Revel, 2020-2025 Navion, Porto, View, Vita, 2022-2023 Adventure Van and 2024-2025 Ekko motorhomes. Supplemental restraint system wires can be caught in the seat mechanism when the driver or passenger seats are adjusted.

Incorrectly Wired Breakaway Switch

A breakaway switch failure increases the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 3

Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Aurora ART26BHS travel trailers. The breakaway switch may be incorrectly wired, preventing the breakaway switch from activating if the trailer detaches from the tow vehicle.

Solar Panel May Detach From Roof

A detached solar panel could become a road hazard, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 23

Forest River is recalling certain 2024-2025 Coachmen Nova NAB20C and NAB20D Type B motorhomes. The solar panel may detach from the pop-up roof.

OLIVER TRAVEL TRAILERS, INC.

Towing Coupler Underrated for Vehicle Weight

An underrated towing coupler can break, allowing the trailer to detach from the tow vehicle and increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 1,304

Oliver Travel Trailers is recalling certain 2009-2024 Legacy Elite II trailers. The towing coupler may be underrated for the trailer GVWR.

Dealers will replace the towing coupler, free of charge. Owner notification letters were expected to be mailed May 17. Owners may contact Oliver customer service at 888-526-3978.

WINNEBAGO INDUSTRIES, INC.

Outer Barrier May Deploy Unexpectedly/FMVSS 403

Unexpected outer barrier deployment may result in the platform not securely retaining the wheelchair, increasing the injury risk for lift occupants.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 1

Winnebago is recalling one 2020 Commercial vehicle, equipped with a certain BraunAbility Wheelchair Lift. The outer barrier may deploy unexpectedly. As such, this vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 403, “Platform Lift Systems.”

FOREST RIVER, INC.

Freshwater Tank May Detach

A detached tank can become a road hazard, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 2,204

Forest River is recalling certain 2020-2023 Coachmen Independence Trail, 2020-2024 Viking and 2021-2024 Clipper travel trailers. The freshwater tank may detach from the vehicle when full or overfilled.

Dealers will install additional attachment straps to the tank, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 24. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 574-825-6319. Forest River’s number for this recall is 121-1777.

 

Incorrectly Installed Furnace May Cause Fire

Overheated vinyl linoleum flooring increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 13

Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Aurora and Catalina travel trailers. The furnace may have been installed directly on top of the vinyl linoleum floor, which can cause the floor to overheat.

Dealers will install a panel between the furnace and the linoleum, free of charge. All affected vehicles are still in dealer inventory; therefore, no owner notification letters will be mailed. Improperly Secured Gas Line May Cause Fire

A propane gas leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 318

Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Solera, 2024-2025 Forester and Sunseeker motorhomes. The liquid propane (LP) line may not be properly secured, which can cause the line to become damaged and leak.

Dealers will install a p-clamp to secure the LP line, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 26. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 574-206-7600. Forest River’s number for this recall is 34-1780.

TIFFIN MOTORHOMES, INC.

Missing Secondary Emergency Exit

A missing emergency exit window could prevent or delay occupants from exiting in the event of an emergency, increasing the injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 42

Tiffin is recalling certain 2024-2025 Byway motorhomes. The secondary emergency exit in the bedroom was not installed.

Dealers will replace the bedroom window with an egress window, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 12. Owners may contact Tiffin customer service at 256-356-8661. Tiffin’s number for this recall is TIF-139.

Propane Line May Crack and Leak

A propane leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 39

Grand Design RV is recalling certain 2023 Solitude fifth wheels. Loose or missing fasteners on the refrigerator cooling unit can allow excessive movement of the unit, possibly causing the propane line to crack and leak.

Dealers will inspect the refrigerator, and repair or replace it as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed June 12. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 574-825-9679. Grand Design’s number for this recall is 910043.

Recall 24V103 / 2024-086. 2019 - 2024 FR3 & Georgetown. All Models. The two mounting ("L") brackets which the LPG tank is bolted to may fracture within the radius bend, and it is possible there is a lack of weld connecting the L Bracket to the chassis. If you have not received a notice, you can contact FR Customer Service (574) 206-7600 for details and assistance.

I just had my brackets fix today under warranty from FR for this recall. Be safe while traveling. 😇

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following 2024 RV recalls:

DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA, LLC

Wheel Detachment from Loose Wheel Hub Fasteners

A loss of vehicle control increases the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 285

DTNA is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Custom Chassis MC, MT45, MT45G, MT55, S2C 106, S2RV 106, XBS, XCM, XCP, XCR, XCS, Freightliner 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, 57X and Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2 transit buses, cabs and chassis. The wheel hub fasteners may loosen and cause the wheel to detach, which can result in loss of vehicle control.

The remedy is currently under development. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 30. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. DTNA’s number for this recall is F1002.

 

Loss of Steering from Tie Rod Suspension

Tie rod suspension can cause a sudden loss of steering control and increase the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 540

DTNA is recalling certain 2025 Freightliner Cascadia, 108SD, 114SD, Business Class M2, Western Star 47X, 49X, Freightliner Custom Chassis S2RV 106 and S2C 106 transit buses, cabs and chassis. The front axle tie rod ball joint studs may crack and break, which can result in tie rod separation.

FOREST RIVER, INC.

Missing Emergency Exit Window

A missing emergency exit window could prevent or delay occupants from exiting in the event of an emergency, increasing the injury risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 101

Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Sabre fifth wheels. The emergency exit window was not installed on the vehicle’s driver’s side.

Dealers will install an emergency exit window, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 10. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 574-642-2100. Forest River’s number for this recall is 62-1785.

 

Missing Amber Side Market Light/ FMVSS 108

Missing side marker lights can reduce trailer visibility to other drivers, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 203

Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Puma travel trailers. The amber side marker light may not have been installed on one side of the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108, “Lamps, Reflective Devices and Associated Equipment.”

Insufficient Clearance May Cause Tire Failure

A damaged tire can fail and cause loss of vehicle control, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 45

Forest River is recalling certain 2024 Forest River Rainier, Stealth Evo, Salem, Vibe and Wildwood travel trailers. The tire may contact the vehicle body due to insufficient clearance, which can cause tire damage.

Incorrectly Routed Seven-Way Connector Can Cause Fire

A loose wire can cause a short circuit, increasing the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 41,353

Forest River is recalling certain 2004-2024 Cedar Creek and 2006-2024 Puma fifth wheels trailers. The overcurrent protection from the trailer battery may have been incorrectly routed, allowing the wires to be pulled out of the junction box.

Dealers will reroute the wires to the protected side of the mini-beaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 14. LED Backlight Circuit Board Failure May Cause Fire

A circuit board that overheats increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 121

Host is recalling certain 2022-2025 Host Mammoth, Yukon, Cascade, Tahoe and Everest truck campers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.

Dealers will cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, or remove the LED backlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 4. Owners may contact Host customer service at 541-330-2328 ext. 5.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following 2024 RV recalls:

DAIMLER TRUCKS NORTH AMERICA, LLC

Fuel Filter Hoses May Disconnect and Leak Fuel

A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source increases the risk of a fire. Additionally, a lack of fuel can cause an engine stall, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 56

Daimler Trucks North America, LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Freightliner Custom Chassis XCR and 2024 XBS, XCM chassis. The remote fuel filter hoses may become separated from the fittings, which can result in a fuel leak and a lack of fuel supply to the engine.

Cummins will replace the fuel filter hoses, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed July 21, 2024. Owners may contact DTNA customer service at 800-745-8000. DTNA’s number for this recall is F1003.

FORETRAVEL, INC.

Electronic Control Center Circuit Board May Short

A damaged circuit board may overheat, and increase the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 13

Foretravel, Inc. is recalling certain 2020 IC-37 vehicles equipped with a Multiplex G9 circuit unit used for controlling equipment and accessories in the motorhome. Excessive voltage may cause the components on the circuit board to become damaged.

THOR MOTOR COACH

Incorrect Circuit Breaker May Cause Fire

Wiring that overheats increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 11

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2025 Thor Tranquility and Sanctuary motorhomes. A 50-amp circuit breaker was incorrectly installed when a 20-amp breaker is required, which can result in overheated wiring.

Dealers will install a 20-amp circuit breaker, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 6, 2024. Owners may contact TMC customer service at 1-877-500-1020. TMC’s number for this recall is RC000305.

 

Heat Shield May Not Protect Propane Tank

A propane tank that becomes overheated increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 12

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Indigo and Luminate motorhomes. The heat shield that protects the propane tank from engine exhaust may be too short, which can cause the propane tank to become overheated.

AIRSTREAM, INC.

Missing Fuse May Allow Supply Wires to Overheat

A missing fuse cannot prevent the supply wire from overheating during a short circuit, increasing the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 2

Airstream is recalling certain 2024 Interstate motorhomes. The 12-volt in-line fuse that provides backup power to the water heater/furnace system was not installed.

Dealers will install a 12-volt fuse, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Aug. 8. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at support@airstream.com, 877-596-6505 or 937-596-611 ext. 7401.

LED Backlight Circuit Board Failure May Cause Fire

A circuit board that overheats increases the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 68

Eveland’s is recalling certain 2024 Scamp trailers. The LED backlight circuit board in the cooktop range may fail, causing the board to overheat.

Dealers will cut the circuit powering the LED backlights and terminate the wiring, or remove the LED backlights, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 17. Owners may contact Eveland’s customer service at 218-947-4932.

JAYCO, INC.

Incorrect Spare Tire Installed/FMVSS 110

Referring to the placard, the operator can inflate the tire to an incorrect pressure, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 24

Jayco is recalling certain 2024 Jay Feather travel trailers. A 14-inch spare tire was mistakenly installed when the tire placard information was based on a 15-inch tire. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 110, “Tire Selection and Rims.”

Emergency Window Blocked by Outdoor Griddle

A blocked emergency exit window can delay occupants exiting the vehicle during an emergency, increasing the injury risk.

Thor Motor Coach (TMC) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Omni and Magnitude motorcoaches. The emergency exit window could be blocked while the outside griddle is in use.

Incorrectly Wired 12-Volt System May Cause Fire

Overheated wiring can increase the fire risk.

Potential Number of Units Affected: 3,157

Brinkley is recalling certain 2023-2024 Model Z fifth wheels and Model Z-Air travel trailers. The 12-volt system may have been incorrectly wired without overcurrent protection and with undersized wiring for the refrigerator, which can result in overheating.

Ladder May Detach While in Use

A ladder that detaches while in use increases the injury risk.

Forest River is recalling certain 2024-2025 Cross Trail motorhomes. The backer on the ladder receiver may not have been installed, which can cause the ladder to detach.
