Geo-82

There's a new lounge/bar coming to Epcot. And this one is the first adult only such establishment in Disney. I can't say that it is one that I am one interested in and 2 excited about the opening of this establishment.  The name of it is Geo 82 and it will be opening on June 4th. This is a reservation required location and as I said it is an adult only establishment. You can't get in unless you have a reservation and you're over 21. This is the first time that Disney World has made a requirement to be 21 and older for an establishment on property.

Even though they are listed as bar/ lounge they will have bites to eat, nothing that looks to be too large or too filling. It is mostly barfood and at a  high scale not like you can go and get a hamburger. It's bit more. Think if you could get something at the level of a steak, but not that filling and the price level of what it would be like to go to a steak restaurant. From what I've seen so far we're talking finger foods at lobster prices.

They're also going to be offering a special firework viewing. At this they're going to be having champagne, small bites, and sweets, and the cost of this is going to be a $179.

I have 2 major problems with Geo 82.

1. This is seeming to contribute to the community of Epcot drinkers that is becoming an increasing problem.  And 2. This seems to be another step in the direction of Disney being blind to the cost prohibitivenes of the general admission visitor. This goes back to the mistake that they made for the Star Wars hotel, the Hyperion. They put the price way too high for the general public and they didn't get the visitors that they needed to get.  When you overprice, you're not going to have the general public that's coming to the park patronize your establishment.

These are just my opinions. What do you think?

Bob Chapek ruined Disney. He was all about profits over customer service He was trying to keep a segment of low income families and individuals from crowding the parks so the higher income families and individuals who had more money to spend would increase profits. He reduced benefits and service for DVC owners.  Prices for annual pass holders got crazy. I gave up my passes when it hit $1,000.00 per person. Let's not mention the outrages cost for meals and snacks. Walt must be flipping in his grave.

I have never been to either Disney parks but we have an amusement park 30 minutes north of us that is great. Voted best wooden roller coasters and cleanest amusement park in the US for ten years in a row. It is very affordable and unlimited free soft drinks. Yes, you read that correctly, unlimited FREE soft drinks and the food is not expensive and restaurant quality. The entire water park and water coasters are included with admission. No separate charge for that. It works for us. But I would like to go to DW at least once to say I have been. You can look up ours if you are ever in Southern Indiana.    Holidayworld.com

When we did the Route 66 journey, on our  way to Chitown we stopped at KOA Indiana Beach and across from it was Indiana Beach Amusement Park and they had a lot to offer. It was closed at the time, but KOA Staff said it was worth the visit when open.
