I wish they would go to other places in NY other than Troy. Didn’t see anything for NV, would be nice if it was here to go see. Thank you Richard, hopefully we can catch it.
FYI, The Wall is sent to communities that have applied to sponsor it and provide volunteers to set-up, break down, and provide 24 hours of security. Here in Kissimmee the American Legion Post is the sponsor and will be responsible for all the support needed. My VVA Chapter will be helping them the best we can. I hope this clears up how the Wall is placed in communities.
Richard, it does. Not sure any local chapters would be able to do so, as they are so small. Will have to look into this further. Thank you.
The size of the chapter is not that important, as many chapters/post collaborates with other veterans organizations and local community organizations to get sponsors and volunteers. So if theirs a desire and will to have the Wall, they can try and work it out. Thats how we are involved with helping the American Legion Post in Kissimmee who is the lead organization.
That may be true for many, but I know as I worked at our local one, as well as being a member, that this area in no way could afford doing so. Will have to look at a bigger area and ask. Thank you Richard.
