RV Recalls 2-2-2026

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued the following recalls:

BRINKLEY RV

Improperly Tightened 50-Amp Shore Power Cord Inlet

The wires may loosen and overheat, increasing the fire risk.

Potential Number of Affected Units: 48

Brinkley is recalling certain 2026 Model Z trailers. The shore power inlet lugs may have been improperly tightened.

Dealers will inspect and properly tighten the lugs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed Jan. 30. Owners may contact Brinkley customer service at 574-501-4280. Brinkley’s number for this recall is REC-2601.

FORD MOTOR CO.

Brake Lights May Fail to Illuminate

Brake lights that do not illuminate properly while driving increase the crash risk. The vehicle may be shifted out of park without the brake pedal applied, increasing the rollaway and crash risk.

Potential Number of Affected Units: 231

Ford is recalling certain 2025 F-59 and F-53 chassis used to build RVs and commercial vehicles. The exterior brake lights may illuminate unexpectedly or fail to illuminate when the brake pedal is activated, due to an incorrectly installed switch.

Dealers will replace the stop light switch, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed Feb. 6. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332. Ford’s number for this recall is 26C01.

FOREST RIVER, INC.

7-Way Connector Missing Overcurrent Protection

Without overcurrent protection, a short circuit can increase the fire risk.

Potential Number of Affected Units: 247

Forest River is recalling certain 2026 Cascade, Cherokee and Campsite Reserve trailers. The 7-way connector may have been incorrectly wired to a breaker without overcurrent protection.

Dealers will correct the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 4. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 260-499-2100. Forest River’s number for this recall is 95-2019.

GRAND DESIGN RV, LLC

Solar Panel May Detach from RV

A detached solar panel can become a road hazard for other vehicles, increasing the crash risk.

Potential Number of Affected Units: 460

Grand Design is recalling certain 2025-2026 Lineage motorhomes. Adhesive securing the solar panels to the roof may fail, enabling the panels to detach.

The remedy is still under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed March 11. Another notice will be sent once a remedy is available. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 574-825-9679. Grand Design’s number for this recall is M910053.

 

U-Bolt May Loosen and Shift Axle

An axle that moves out of position can cause vehicle control loss and increase the crash risk.

Potential Number of Affected Units: 7,585

Grand Design is recalling certain 2021-2024 Momentum and 2022-2024 Solitude fifth wheels. The U-bolt may become loose due to inadequate preload and preload losses, causing the axle to move out of position.

The remedy is still under development. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk are expected to be mailed March 11. Another notice will be sent once the remedy becomes available. Owners may contact Grand Design customer service at 574-825-9679. Grand Design’s number for this recall is 910054. This recall supersedes NHTSA Recalls 23V490 and 24V193.

KEYSTONE RV CO.

Murphy Bed May Fall Unexpectedly

A Murphy bed that falls increases the injury risk.

Potential Number of Affected Units: 115

Keystone is recalling certain 2026 Coleman travel trailers. The bed brackets may not be secured to a stud, causing the bed to fall unexpectedly.

Dealers will reinstall the brackets into a stud, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 19. Owners may contact Keystone customer service at 866-425-4369. Keystone’s number for this recall is 26-479.

Thank you, you two, we just read that a day or so ago. We also sent the post to others on another forum to who wanted to argue with us about all new RV’s getting QA. I tried to tell them what the Heartland QA person for their company at the time told us, the QA is random. They bought a Brinkley later last year. Some things you can not notice or able to check, but go over with them with a fine comb. Some have a few more recalls then others, take that into effect. Be careful, get them done so you can enjoy and be safe.
