Update on my progress.
Been talking with the developer and He is not understanding the issues I am bringing up with the Pin types and members not being able to edit their own entries once they are in place.
I might be able to work around the Pins all showing as one color on the map even though I have each category a separate color. You have to select what Category you want in the lower Left of the map, and the pins that don't match disappear. But it is not intuitive at all.
Our other system does not provide for front end entry, or active location search (but hey, just Google it) ... but has a lot of other things going for it. So right now it's a toss-up. Still mulling the options and what might be good for the members if we implement a map.

OK, now the 2 categories we have for testing on the map show with different color pins. So it's time to play/test to see if it makes sense to you all.
If you are a paid member / system tester / moderator, go to https://rv-friends.org/map/ and try it out. You have to use this link as it is Not in the Menu system.
You can post a pin for review as well. Maybe pick something you have posted about recently like an RV Park or Restaurang (you have to enter their street address). Try to include a photo (2mb max) and also try using Long/Lat to place a pin. This will help us test the concept and see if we want to make it a permanent feature.
This Map will NOT track your location on the map.. it only ask for your location to move the map to where you are (approximately) to see the pins close to you. Use 
to move map to your location.
We have already placed 3 pins in WA State (Pacific NW) on Lummi Island as test pins. I also just added in Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii as a Medical Services category example. [Wink, wink, Nudge, nudge Richard]
I added a couple of pins to a couple of places we go to frequently to try it out. It says it will be reviewed after submitting. 👍
I added a pin to see how it takes and look on the Map. If it works, I'll add more later.
Thank you both, I got to reviewing the Pins this afternoon. I was on the mainland today and doing the trip via the Passenger Only Ferry basically shoots the whole day.
Yes, we have to review the pins 1st to make sure the description etc is within our guidelines/policy... I sent you both a direct msg about it.
After a bit of tweaking on one of them, I published all of them. Hopefully we can get some visuals as well in the future (still being careful of copyright). But most attractions etc. don't mind if you use a photo from Their website.. as it helps them too. The Tripler pin has a photo from them, plus as a Gov. entity, they are fair game for using the photo.
Note: Craig, I did go in and adjust your Amphitheater URL to make it open in a seperate tab. Any in the URL field does this automatically. Good call by the way doing the Park as the main URL and the Amphitheater in the body.

I tried to put an attraction on the map, put everything in, but it would not take their website. It’s their website address that brings you to the website of the museum. On the form, it stated to put in website, but it would not take it. Not sure why.
I'm sure Alan will look into this. He's been working hard to make the map user friendly. Step by Step we are getting there. Thanks for your support and inputs.
Thank you Richard, he stated he was busy and may get time. Not worried, just thought I would give it a try, since I am on, and see how it works.
