Closing Date For Rivers of America & Beyond, Name of New Area

Quote from Tink H. on 2025-06-04, 3:02 pmThey officially announced the closing date for Rivers of America, Liberty Square Riverboat, and Tom Swayer Island. The final date, of operation and access to all of these will be on July 6th because they will be closing them on the 7th.
The area taking these attractions place is gonna be called Piston Peak and it's going to be themed after a Rocky Mountain National Park filled with trees, and waterfalls, and ranger stations. A main new character in this area is going to be Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore. This is a nod to Ranger J. Audubon Woodlore, the park ranger from Disney’s Humphrey the Bear and Donald Duck cartoons. An animatronic Ranger J. Autobahn Woodlore we'll share history and folklore of Piston Peak while in the preshow for the attraction.
And from the looks of the pictures in the article, it looks like they're going to be keeping at least half of the Rivers of America (the parts that goes around the back) and it looks like they're going to reroute the front half through different waterfalls and it looks like they're going to keep the waterfall that comes out of front that came off the mountain structure that was there as you went around the front corner. So it doesn't look like much destruction is going to be done to the island itself. It just looks like they're going to be filling in the river in the front to complete a land-base for the new Cars attraction. Then doing some major plumbing. We also are getting a new mountain out of it.
We'll see how this goes and how long it takes.
