Say Goodbye to Genie+ at Disney World

Disney is announced that it is doing away with the genie plus program and it is replacing it with Multi Pass and Single Pass Lightning Lane. You can see how these will be able to function in the chart  that I was able to acquire from mousewaits.com.

Walt Disney World LIGHTNING LANE

Multi Pass

Formerly Disney Genie+ Service

Purchase for 1 theme park per day.

Choose up to 3 experiences (and times) in 1 theme park ahead of your visit.

After using 1st selection, check the My Disney Experience app for availability to make an additional selection.

Single Pass

Formerly individual Lightning Lane entry

Purchase up to 2 selections per day in advance for some of our most highly demanded attractions, such as:

• Guardians of the Galaxy:

Cosmic Rewind

• TRON Lightcycle / Run

Choose available times ahead of your visit.

Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel or other select hotels will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance.

Visit Disney World.com for more information.

I'm not pleased at all with this. Fast Pass was the original program and it worked well until Chapek became CEO and ruin the company and parks and DVC. He was all about profits and reduced a lot of amenities and came up with this Genie +. Fast Pass was free and you could select up to 3 rides. Now you have to pay for this Genie+ which makes no sense when you consider how much you have to pay to get into the park. Don't get me started with DVC.

Didn't say I was pleased about it either, I'm just sharing what's going on?

I'm not fond of how things have gotten so complicated with the Disney Parks.   My Brother thankfully figures it all out when I visit him in California.

On my end, I still have some E tickets (yep, I'm old)

I'm with you, I say hit the parks, forget the technology and just enjoy the day without looking at your screen all day. And as far as that  E Ticket , hold on to it , it is valuable!
