Selective Service Registration for Females
Equality maybe coming to the Draft by allowing Women to be included. This has been a long battle and it looks like it may happen this year. Read the attached article for details.
I am torn on the issue. It saddens me as a 28 year Army veteran, to say I am not sure I would want my granddaughter (or step-grandson) serving in today's environment. I'll leave it at that.
I feel you. My son deployed to Iraq twice and is still serving in the Army Reserve E-6 and subject to deployment. The Military you and I was in, is not the same as today. I keep our Troops in daily prayer to return home safely to their family.
It’s a different world today, more women are entering. I don’t like the idea of draft, but noticed the lower of those who are joining, so I guess this may be a way of getting them. Right now my grandkids are to young, but it may happen. I believe women can do it, but only if they are not forced, and that’s where I am worried about drafting. Youngsters are not like my older kids, my son enlisted and did two years in Iraq as well. Younger kids now a days are not willing to put their lives in danger for our country. It will be a mess coming I fear. Thank you for all who have fought for us.
