New Rest areas on I-10 near Van Horn, TX
Two new rest areas opened Saturday, June 1 on each side of I-10 near Van Horn in southwest TX, stated by Truckers News. They are located about nine miles from Van Horn and replace two older ones that were closer to the town. Each rest area has 58 truck parking spots . In the future, both will be part of the planned I-10 Truck Parking Availability System that will provide truck drivers real-time info on public truck parking sites along 1-10. The rest areas have air conditioning and heated restrooms, wireless internet, indoor exhibits, a tornado shelter, shaded playground , walking trails and office space for law enforcement.
