X-Sense Smart Smoke Detector Carbon Monoxide Detector Combo with Replaceable Battery, Wi-Fi Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector with Real-Time App Notifications, SC07-WX, 1-Pack

I use this one because it is a dual sensor, shows you the levels, and will send me an alarm when I am away from the bus. Super easy to install and setup.

I prefer units with their own battery – a detector running on the 12v supply of the RV can have the supply fail.. and that potentially lets off smoke or worse fire, and the alarm is dead and useless. It’s easy to replace batteries once a year. I do it the first week of January as part of the new year ritual.

I have the app on my phone, and it advises me when the unit is tested by anyone, and includes the test results with battery status. I just tested it (I do that in January and July of each year).

RV Carbon Monoxide and Propane Detectors, RV Propane Gas Detector, VITITE 2 in 1 Dual CO/LP Gas Alarm, Hardwired - DC 12V, Surface & Flush Mount

I know many of you have a unit like this in your RV and I have looked at the “standard” and this one is a much better design. Comes with 3 ways of mounting it, and the unit fits into the larger plates so well you almost cannot see the seam. I like the look of this much better as well.

Since I am storing some camp stove fuel canisters in my rig, I have bought this to be in the compartment with them. The faster you know of a problem, the better.
